Arthur Bosua scored four goals in a shutout victory against Harvard to earn Ivy League Player of the Week, while Princeton’s
Gaby Paniagua registered the equalizer in the Tigers’ overtime win at Penn to take home Rookie of the Week honors.
LEAGUE NOTES
- No. 19 Dartmouth have the opportunity to clinch the 2017 Ivy League title outright with a win at Brown in the season finale. The Big Green has clinched the league’s automatic qualifier for the 2017 NCAA Tournament with its win over Columbia.
- The Big Green, which clinched at least a share of the title with its 1-0 victory at Cornell, clinched its fourth consecutive Ivy League title, becoming the first Ancient Eight school to do so in 32 years.
- If Columbia defeats Cornell and Dartmouth loses to Brown, then the Lions will earn a share of the title. It would be the second consecutive and 10th overall title in program history.
- Dartmouth and Columbia are ranked in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll at No. 19 and No. 25, respectively. The Big Green is also ranked No. 19 in the latest Top Drawer Soccer Men’s Division I Poll, while Columbia is receiving votes.
- Dartmouth boasts the 17th best scoring offense in the nation. The Big Green are averaging 2.00 goals per game.
- Dartmouth is led by Eduvie Ikoba who has totaled 19 points on eight goals and three assists.
- In net, Christopher Palacios owns a 9-2-1 record with only nine goals allowed posting a 0.69 goals-against average with 20 saves and a .690 save percentage and seven shutouts.
- Columbia senior Arthur Bosua continues to lead the Ivy League in points (27) and goals (11). Bosua’s 0.73 goals per game and 180 points per game is good for 11th in the nation.
- The Lions enter the final weekend on a four-game riding streak, outscoring its opponents 12-0 during that stretch.
- Dylan Castanheira ranks second in the nation in goals-against average (.383) and seventh in save percentage (.854) and third in the country with 10 shutouts.
- Princeton improves to 6-6-1 on the season and is unbeaten in its last six games with a 2-2-2 Ivy League record. The Tigers have outscored its opponents 7-3 during that stretch with Bobby Hickson and Jeremy Colvin have led the offensive attack with two goals apiece.
- Penn is led by Joe Swenson who ranks third among Ancient Eight leaders with seven goals and third with 16 total points.
- Harvard’s Kyle Parks leads the Ancient Eight with 5.85 savers per game.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior
Arthur Bosua registered a career-high four goals to earn Player of the Week accolades as Columbia defeated Harvard, 6-0.
Bosua, who leads the Ivy League in goals and points, got the scoring started for the Lions as the senior forward headed home two goals in the first four minutes of the contest. The Johannesburg, South Africa native, netted his second career hat trick in the 47th minute and finished his scoring in the 66th minute of action. The six-goal output marks the most by the Lions since a 6-1 victory over Marist on Sept. 24, 2002. Bosua’s four goals moves him into seventh on Columbia’s all-time goals list with 26 career tallies.
This marks the first weekly award for the senior in 2017 and second for the Lions after
Beto Carrillo was named Rookie of the Week for the week of Oct. 30.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Princeton freshman
Gaby Paniagua scored the equalizer and eventually help Princeton defeat Penn, 2-1, in overtime. Princeton improves to 6-6-1 on the season and is unbeaten in its last six games with a 2-2-2 Ivy League record.
Trailing 1-0, Paniagua knotted the game in the 23rd minute off a deep throw in the attacking zone. Sophomore defender
Bobby Hickson sent the ball into the box where it was knocked around before Paniagua collected the ball and sent it past Penn’s
Scott Forbes. The Tigers went on to register the win, thanks to Hickson’s golden goal in the 94th minute.
This marks the first weekly award for Paniagua and the third weekly award for the Tigers this season.
