OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Senior Wyatt Omsberg of the Dartmouth men’s soccer team has been named a finalist for the 2017 Senior CLASS Award.
The Scarborough, Maine native is one of 10 finalists for men’s soccer, who has reached senior status in an NCAA Division I program and has notable achievements in the classroom, community, character and competition. The acronym for the Senior CLASS Award stands for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School.
Omsberg, the 2016 Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year, is serving as one of the three team captains this year, and is tied for first on the team in goals with four. Along with his competition on the field, Omsberg is a co-leader of the Big Green Readers, and works with the Thetford Mentors and the Big Green Clinics, the team’s soccer camp.
A nationwide fan vote is taking place online and will continue through November 20, on the Senior CLASS Award website. Fan votes will be combined with the media and Division I head coaches’ votes to determine the winner. The award winners will be announced during the 2017 NCAA Men’s and Women’s College Cup championships at the end of the season.
