Columbia, Dartmouth, Princeton, and Yale Earn Opening League Wins

PRINCETON, N.J. – Following a successful non-conference season, all eyes now turn to the league schedule as Columbia, Dartmouth, Princeton, and Yale all picked up opening conference wins on Monday night.
 
COLUMBIA 104, CORNELL 99
Columbia (12-3, 1-0 Ivy) outlasted Cornell (7-7, 0-1 Ivy) in a high-scoring affair, topping the Big Red by a score of 104-99 in Ithaca, N.Y. Blair Thompson led the way for the Lions with 26 points, while Kenny Noland added 23 points to pace a balanced attack that featured five players score in double-figures. Cornell on the other had six players score 10-plus points as Cooper Noard led the way with 23 points.
 
DARTMOUTH 76, HARVARD 68
Dartmouth (7-7, 1-0 Ivy) earned a road win at Harvard (7-8, 0-1 Ivy), edging the Crimson 76–68. The Big Green were led by 19 points from Kareem Thomas and 18 from Connor Amundsen as Dartmouth won a competitive contest that included six lead changes and nine separate times with the score tied. Harvard got 16 points each from both Robert Hinton and Austin Hunt.
 
YALE 70, BROWN 53
Yale (12-2, 1-0 Ivy) improved to 12-2 overall on the season as they picked up their first Ivy League win of the season with a 70-53 win over Brown (6-8, 0-1 Ivy). Riley Fox scored 18 points off the bench to lead the Bulldogs as Yale scored 32 points in the paint to control the game. For the Bears, Landon Lewis tallied 16 points to lead the Bears' offensive attack.
 
PRINCETON 78, PENN 76
Princeton (5-11, 1-0 Ivy) opened their conference season with a 78-76 home win over Penn (7-7, 0-1 Ivy). The Tigers overcame an early 14-point deficit behind 23 points from Jack Stanton and 19 points from Dalen Davis who missed the last nine games for Princeton. The Quakers had five scorers in double-figures as Penn made a late rally at the end of the second half, but fell short.
