No. 1 Yale, No. 3 Penn Set For Ivy Madness Men's Title Game

ITHACA, N.Y. — Both top-seeded Yale and third-seeded Penn advanced to Sunday's championship game as both teams moved one step closer to an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The title game will take place on Sunday, March 15 at 12 p.m. on ESPN2.

NO. 1 YALE 88, NO. 4 CORNELL 76
In front of a raucous crowd in Cornell's Newman Arena, Yale earned an 88-76 win over Cornell to advance to the championship game in hopes of capturing their second-straight conference title. It was a tale of two halves as both teams were unstoppable on the offensive end in the opening half, with Cornell shooting 64.3% from the field in the first half while the Bulldogs shot an impressive 55.3% as well.

The second half, however, turned into more of a defensive battle as both teams dipped below 43.0% from the field. While Yale led wire-to-wire, the Big Red were in striking distance for the majority of the game until the final minute when Yale finished the game on a 7-0 run. Both Isaac Celiscar (27) and Trevor Mullin (21) scored 20-plus points for Yale as Nick Townsend and Jordan Brathwaite also chipped in with 15 and 14, respectively.

On the other side, Cornell's Jake Fiegen led the way with 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting as Jacob Beccles tallied 18 points and eight rebounds.

NO. 3 PENN 62, NO. 2 HARVARD 60 (OT)
In the second semifinal of the day, No. 3 Penn won an overtime thriller over second-seeded Harvard, 62-60, to advance to the Ivy League title game in Fran McCaffery's first year at the helm for the Quakers. Heading into the game without leading scorer Ethan Roberts, TJ Power shouldered most of the scoring output for Penn, scoring 16 points while grabbing 12 rebounds to lead the Quakers.

Penn was hot from distance in the opening half, shooting over 41.7% from three-point range to help give Penn a narrow 30-26 lead heading into halftime. Harvard responded nicely, however, coming out of the break, jumping out to a 10-2 run in the opening minutes to take the lead. In what was a back-and-forth contest from there, AJ Levine's layup with five seconds remaining in overtime proved to be the game-winner as Penn advanced to the title game.

For Harvard, Tey Barbour led the scoring attack with 16 points while Ben Eisendrath tallied 15.
