PRINCETON, N.J. — In what was a thrilling weekend of Ivy League men's basketball, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, and Yale all took home Monday victories. With the wins, Dartmouth, Harvard, and Yale all sit tied atop the standings at 3-1.
CORNELL 89, BROWN 67
Cornell (8-9, 1-3 Ivy) rolled to an 89-67 road win at Brown, shooting 53.4 percent from the field and hitting 41.4 percent of its threes. Jake Fiegen led the Big Red with 31 points and Cooper Noard added 20 as Cornell built a double-digit lead early and never looked back. Cornell also dominated in scoring from the paint and fast break points to keep Brown at bay. Brown (7-10, 1-3 Ivy) was paced by Isaiah Langham’s 14 points.
HARVARD 64, PENN 63
Harvard (10-8, 3-1 Ivy) held on for a 64-63 win over Penn at Lavietes Pavilion by shooting 48.1 percent from the field and hitting eight three-pointers. Thomas Batties II and Tey Barbour each scored 17 points to lead the Crimson offense, as Harvard improved to 3-1 in conference play, tied with Dartmouth and Yale at the top of the standings. Harvard also outscored Penn in the paint 34-24 and generated 10 fast-break points. Penn (9-8, 2-2 Ivy) was led by Ethan Roberts with 27 points.
YALE 91, COLUMBIA 74
Yale (14-3, 3-1 Ivy) cruised to a 91-74 home victory over Columbia by shooting 50 percent from the field and knocking down 12 three-pointers. Nick Townsend led the Bulldogs with 25 points, while Samson Aletan added 18 as Yale built a double-digit lead in both halves. The Bulldogs shot 89.5 percent at the free-throw line and finished with 31 assists. Columbia (12-6, 1-3 Ivy) was paced by Kenny Noland with 13 points.
DARTMOUTH 71, PRINCETON 69
Kareem Thomas' game winning jumper in the closing seconds lifted Dartmouth (9-8, 3-1 Ivy) to a 71-69 home victory over Princeton. The Big Green shot 45.5 percent from the field and 75 percent from three-point range. Thomas led the Big Green with 22 points, and Jayden Williams added 13 as Dartmouth outscored the Tigers in the second half. Dartmouth also converted 12 free throws and finished with a 33-29 rebounding edge. Princeton (6-13, 2-2 Ivy) was paced by Jackson Hicke’s 28 points.
