PRINCETON, N.J. – In its first year of participation in the NCAA FCS Football Championship, the Ivy League has earned multiple bids, with Harvard and Yale punching their tickets to the postseason tournament.
Harvard will square off against No. 12 Villanova, while Yale will take on No. 15 Youngstown State. Both contests are set for Saturday, Nov. 29 at noon.
The Crimson closed the regular season at 9–1 overall, with eight of their nine victories coming by three possessions or more. Harvard ranks ninth nationally in scoring offense (39.4 points per game) and 13th in scoring defense (18.1).
Yale earned the league’s automatic bid with its win over Harvard on Saturday. Winners of six straight, the Bulldogs hold the seventh-longest active win streak in the FCS. Over that stretch, Yale has won by an average margin of 18 points.
Football becomes the fourth Ivy League sport this fall to earn multiple bids to an NCAA championship, joining field hockey (3), men’s soccer (2), and men’s cross country (2). Last year, eight Ivy League sports earned multiple bids.
