Yale Sits Alone Atop the Standings Following Exciting Ivy Men’s Hoops Action

PRINCETON, N.J. – Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn and Yale emerged victorious in an Ivy League men's basketball Saturday slate that featured historic performance and several big milestones.

Dartmouth forward Brandon Mitchell-Day had 23 points and 20 rebounds in the Big Green’s 84-83 road win over Brown. The 6-8 junior forward became the fifth player this season in Division I men’s basketball to record at least 20 points and 20 rebounds, joining Johni Broome (Auburn), Oscar Cluff (South Dakota St.),  Denijay Harris (Southern Miss) and Derik Queen (Maryland). In that same game, Brown’s Kino Lilly Jr. became just the third Ivy ever to hit 300 career 3-pointers, joining Cornell’s Ryan Wittman (377, 2006-10) and Matt Morgan (334, 2015-19). Four Ivies hit at least five triples, led by Penn’s Sam Brown, who was 8-of-10 from beyond the arc.

With Cornell topping Princeton on the road, Yale is the lone remaining unbeaten team in league play at 4-0. The Bulldogs and Tigers are set to square off at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31 in front of a national television audience on ESPN2 in Princeton, N.J. The two programs have clashed in the three of the six Ivy Madness finals since the tournament was implemented in 2017.
