Ivy League Launches 50th Anniversary of Women's Championships — First Conference To Reach Milestone

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. -- This afternoon, the Ivy League proudly announced the 50th anniversary of Ivy League Women's Championships will take place throughout the 2024-25 academic year.

The Ivy League is the first Division I conference to achieve the 50 year milestone. The celebration began at this weekend's Ivy League Women's Rowing Championships — the first women's championship held in 1974.

Throughout the 2024-25 academic year, the league will hold special recognitions and events — both in-person and virtually — in conjuction with Ivy League Championships. Additionally, the league will be collaborating with its broadcast partner, ESPN, to recognize and detail the many achievements of women student-athletes throughout the 50 years.

More details will be shared later this summer. Stay tuned to IvyLeague.com and the league's social media channels throughout the 2024-25 academic year.
