PRINCETON, N.J. – After leading their teams to two wins over the weekend, Princeton’s
Matt Allocco (player) and Cornell’s
Jake Fiegen (rookie) earned Ivy League men’s basketball weekly honors.
Yale and Cornell are atop the Ivy League standings with 8-1 records. Princeton picked up a crucial win against the Bulldogs to pull within a game of lead on Saturday. All three teams are ranked in the top 100 of the NCAA NET rankings. The Ivy League is just one of 12 conferences with three top-100 teams.
Harvard and Columbia are tied for the fourth spot at 4-5. The Crimson completed the season of the Lions on Saturday evening, giving it an advantage as the race to Ivy Madness continues to heat up.
The top four teams will advance to the event which combines the men’s and women’s tournaments. Set for March 15-17 at Levien Gymnasium in New York, both all-session tickets and single-game Ivy Madness tickets are now on sale and may be purchased at

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Matt Allocco, Princeton G
- Played all 80 minutes over the weekend averaging 17.0 points on 47.6% shooting from the field
- Was 13-of-13 from the line, while averaging 5.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists along with 2.0 steals
- Had 16 points against Brown and followed it up with 18 opposite Yale
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jake Fiegen, Cornell G
- Was effective on both sides, averaging 12.5 points and 6.0 rebounds, while playing shut down defense
- Shot 56 percent from the floor and 46 percent (5-of-11) from 3-point range
- Team netted a +22 in his 51 minutes of action over the week
