PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia’s
Chan Sin Yuk and Princeton’s
Zeina Zein earned Ivy League women’s squash postseason awards following a vote of the league’s head coaches.
Sin Yuk was voted Player of the Year while Zein was named the Rookie of the Year. Harvard head coach
Mike Way earned Ivy League Coach of the Year. All were unanimous decisions.
Sin Yuk was a perfect 5-0 in Ivy League matches playing at the No. 1 position for the Lions.
In her freshman year, Zein played at the No. 1 position for the Tigers and owned a record of 3-2.
Way guided the Crimson to a perfect Ivy record of 6-0 and an eighth consecutive Ivy title.
Six teams were represented on the All-Ivy team. Harvard had the most honorees with four:
Habeeba Eldefrawy,
Saran Gregory-Nghiem,
Lucie Stefanoni and
Marina Stefanoni.
Princeton had the next most honorees with three:
Liyen Teoh,
Emma Trauber and Zein.
Columbia (Sin Yuk), Cornell (
Wen Li Lai), Penn (
Sohaila Ismail) and Yale (
Sneha Sivakumar) each had representatives on the team.
Additionally, one Ivy League women's squash student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and on the court as members of the 2023-24 Ivy League Women's Squash Academic All-Ivy team. Columbia's
