Four Ivies Garner NFHCA All-America Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Four Ivies from four different programs garnered All-America honors as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced the 2024 NCAA Division I Field Hockey All-America teams on Tuesday.
 
The Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year, Princeton’s Beth Yeager, was named to the NFHCA first team while Harvard’s Bronte-May Brough, Brown’s Lucy Adams and Yale’s Chiara Picciafuoco were all honored on the second team.
 
Yeager, a junior midfielder and three-time first-team All-American, finished eighth in NCAA field hockey this season with 2.15 points per game via 16 goals and 11 assists, which were league highs in both categories.
 
Brough, a junior defender and another three-time All-American, had another solid season on the backline for the Crimson, which was among the nation’s top defensive teams in 2024. Harvard ranked sixth in the nation in goals against average (1.05) whiel Brough also helped guide the Crimson to six shutouts. Brough was a key facilitator on the penalty corner strategy as well with two goals.
 
Adams led Brown with 11 assists, finished second on the team with 19 points and led the Bears to its first-ever Ivy League tournament appearance. Adams, a junior midfielder, was a unanimous All-Ivy first-team selection as well.
 
Picciafuoco, a freshman forward/midfielder, was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year this season after making an instant impact on the field for Yale. Picciafuoco tied for the Yale lead in goals this season (6) and finished second in points (15) while scoring three game-winning goals.
 
It was another successful Ivy League field hockey season where two Ivies, Harvard and Princeton, reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Tournament.
