Ivy League Announces Women's Soccer All-Ivy and Major Awards

PRINCETON, N.J. — With the 2024 Ivy League Women’s Soccer Tournament just days away, the Ivy League has announced the 2024 All-Ivy Teams and Major Award winners.

Princeton junior Pietra Tordin won the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year award after helping her Tigers to their 11th Ivy League title. Tordin missed Princeton’s first eight games of the season while representing Team USA at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, but wasted little time making her presence felt in the Princeton lineup. In just seven games, six of which were Ivy League contests, Tordin scored seven goals and added two assists for 16 points, tying her for the Ivy League lead in total goals and tied for third in total points. Her per game averages led the Ivy League and would lead the country as well if she had enough qualifying games. Tordin had a hat trick in Princeton’s victory over Brown, but her most impactful performance came in the final weekend of the season as she scored the game-winning goal in Princeton’s Ivy League-clinching 1-0 victory over Columbia.

Courtney Ruedt of Columbia was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year after holding down a Columbia back line that ranked second in the conference in goals allowed per game. The defense became a staple of the Lions, posting six clean sheets, including two in conference play. One of the most consistent forces in the league, starting every game this season, Reudt also found her way into the scoresheet with a goal off a corner kick in a 4-1 win over Cornell.

Freshman standout Ella Weil won Rookie of the Year honors after a strong first-year performance for Brown. The midfielder did a little of everything for Brown, playing all over the field while orchestrating an offensive attack with two goals and two assists in Ivy League games, and five goals and three assists overall. She had the game-winning goal in Brown’s 2-1 win over Harvard to open Ivy League play and had a hand in both goals, posting two assists in Brown’s 2-0 win over Yale.

After going 6-1 in Ivy League play and winning their 11th conference title on the final day of the regular season, the Princeton Tigers coaching staff, led by head coach Sean Driscoll, was named the Coaching Staff of the Year. The Tigers finished the regular season winning their last four games and posting a 12-4 overall record.

The All-Ivy First Team consists of players from six of the eight programs with the top two teams in the standings, Princeton and Columbia, sharing the crown for most representatives with four apiece. Princeton had Tordin as a unanimous selection with Lily Bryant, Heather MacNab, and Tyler McCamey joining the Offensive Player of the Year on the First Team. Ruedt was also a unanimous selection for Columbia, as was Nata Ramirez, with Columbia’s other two representatives being Sophia Cavaliere and Maia Tabion. Harvard had three First Team honorees in Jade Rose, Josefine Hasbo, and Áslaug Gunnlaugsdóttir, Brown had two representatives in Joy Okonye and Lexi Quinn, and Penn and Yale had one athlete on the list each in Annabel Austen and Ellie Rappole, respectively.

The All-Ivy Second Team showcased at least one player from each member school, with Princeton adding four additional award honorees. Yale, Dartmouth, Brown, and Cornell each had two players named All-Ivy Second Team, with Penn, Harvard, and Columbia each having one Second Team winner.

Additionally, one Ivy League women’s soccer student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and on the pitch as members of the 2024 Ivy League Women’s Soccer Academic All-Ivy team. Brown’s Bella Schopp, Columbia’s Sophia Cavaliere, Cornell's Lily Ellingson, Dartmouth’s Hailey Rorick, Harvard’s August Hunter, Penn's Annabel Austen, Princeton’s Kate Toomey and Yale’s Alanna Butcher were each named to the team.

The Ivy League Women’s Soccer Tournament begins on Friday with a pair of semifinal games at Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium. Second-seeded Columbia takes on third-seeded Brown at 1 p.m., then top-seeded Princeton squares-off against fourth-seeded Harvard at 4:30 p.m. All games can be seen on ESPN+.
