Columbia's Collins, Harvard's Chatira Earn Women's Basketball Weekly Awards

PRINCETON, N.J. — In the third week of the Ivy League women's basketball, multiple Ivies earned wins over Power conference opponents as Harvard defeated Northwestern and Princeton took down Seton Hall and Rutgers. Individually, Columbia's Cecelia Collins and Harvard's Lydia Chatira earned weekly awards for their impressive performances on the court.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cecelia Collins, Columbia (Sr., G - Scranton, Pa.)
  • Averaged 15.7 points per game, 6.3 assists per game, and 5.3 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for Columbia that included wins over Pacific and Southern Miss.
  • Recorded 18 points, tallied a season-high eight assists, and had a game-high five steals in an 84-50 win over Pacific.
  • Tallied 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists against Indiana.
  • Almost recorded a triple-double (12 points, eight rebounds, seven assists) in a win vs. Southern Miss.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lydia Chatira, Harvard (Fr., G - Pikermi, Greece)
  • Averaged 6.0 points on 42.9% shooting, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in a 3-0 week for Harvard.
  • Set a new career-high in points (seven) and assists (five) while also pulling down four rebounds against Northeastern.
  • Added six points, four rebounds, two assists, and a steal versus Northwestern.
  • Tallied five points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals against Illinois State.
