Columbia Sweeps Women's Hoops Weekly Awards



PRINCETON, N.J. — The conference season continues to take shape as each Ivy League team played their second and third games last weekend. Following the results, Columbia and Princeton sit atop the standings at 3-0 as Brown, Harvard, and Penn are all a game behind at 2-1. Individually, Columbia's Abbey Hsu (Player) and Riley Weiss (Rookie) earned this week's weekly awards.

On the national level, three Ivies (Princeton, Columbia, and Harvard) rank inside the top-75 of the NCAA NET rankings.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abbey Hsu, Columbia (Sr., G - Parkland, Fla.)
  • Averaged 22.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.5 steals in a 2-0 week for Columbia.
  • Became one of the top-10 all-time scorers in Ivy League women's basketball history.
  • Scored a game-high 20 points with eight rebounds, six assists, four steals, and one block vs. Cornell.
  • Tallied a game-high 24 points with six rebounds and six assists against Yale.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Riley Weiss, Columbia (Fr., G - Hewlett, N.Y.)

  • Averaged 12.0 points in a 2-0 week for Columbia.
  • Shot 57.1% from the field, and 44.4% from 3-point range.
  • Reached double-figures in both games (10 points vs. Cornell, 14 vs. Yale).
