PRINCETON, N.J. – Cornell earned two of the four Ivy League football weekly awards, following its win over Yale. Connor Henderson (Defensive) and Jackson Kennedy (Special Teams) were the Big Red’s recipients, while Penn’s Jared Richardson (Offensive) and Dartmouth’s Owen Zalc (Rookie) brought home honors after their impressive performances.
 
League play started last week and both games were decided by three or fewer points. Harvard outlasted Brown, 34-31, on Friday evening and Cornell topped Yale, 23-21, thanks to 37-yard field goal off the foot of Kennedy as time expired.
 
Ivies were 3-1 in non-conference play with Columbia, Dartmouth and Penn winning in dominant fashion.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jared Richardson, Penn WR

• Recorded 12 receptions for 139 yards in Penn’s win over Bucknell
• Reeled in two touchdown catches of 40 yards and seven yards
• His 12 receptions is tied for the most in a single FCS game this season

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Connor Henderson, Cornell LB 

• Registered a team-high seven tackles and had an interception in Cornell’s win over Yale
• Interception came at the end of the first half and proved to be a momentum swing, as Cornell scored on its next two drives
• The Big Red’s win was its second over the Bulldogs at the Yale Bowl since 1997

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jackson Kennedy, Cornell K/P

• Kicked the decisive 37-yard field goal in poor conditions as time expired to give Cornell the 23-21 victory over Yale
• Was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts and 2-for-2 on PATs
• Punted twice with one pinning the Bulldogs inside their 20-yard line  

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Owen Zalc, Dartmouth K

• Finished with 10 total points in Dartmouth’s win over Lehigh
• Was 2-for-2 on field goal attempts with makes from 35 yards and 26 yards
• Perfect 4-for-4 on PAT attempts
