PRINCETON, N.J. – Following a 5-3 start on Week 1 for Ivy League football teams, league play begins in Week 2. Brown and Harvard kick things off at 7 p.m. on Friday and a five-game Saturday slate will follow.
There will be a league-wide moment of silence prior to the start of all football home games this weekend to honor and celebrate the life of Dartmouth head coach Buddy Teevens, who passed away on Tuesday.

- The Ivy League’s 5-3 start in Week 1 marks the eighth consecutive season that league has posted a win percentage of .500 or better in season openers. Over the past 18 seasons, Ivies are 88-56 (.611) in season openers.
- Last season, the Ivy League was 19-5 against non-conference opponents. Princeton, Columbia, Cornell and Penn each went 3-0 against non-league foes. The Tigers have won 17 consecutive non-conference games. Overall, the league has enjoyed non-conference success for more than a decade. Since 2010, Ivies own a mark of 182-114 (.615).
- Following its 45-13 win over St. Thomas, Harvard entered the national rankings at the No. 25 spot in the AFCA Coaches Poll. Princeton and Yale also received votes in the poll.
- Three Ivies were named in Stats Perform’s FCS Prospects to Know for the 2024 NFL Draft in June. Yale OT Kiran Amegadjie was listed as the top prospect. Princeton OT Jalen Travis and Harvard DT Thor Griffith were fifth and sixth, respectively.
- The Ivy League returns two Bushnell Cup winners from last season: Yale QB Nolan Grooms (Offensive Player of the Year) and Princeton LB Liam Johnson (Defensive Player of the Year). Harvard DL Truman Jones, who shared the Defensive Player of the Year award with Johnson, is currently on the practice squad for the Kansas City Chiefs.
- Last year, five teams finished in the top 20 in scoring defense: Princeton (1st, 13.5 ppg), Yale (5th, 19.5 ppg), Penn (6th, 19.7 ppg), Dartmouth (13th, 20.5 ppg) and Harvard (16th, 20.8 ppg).
