Yale Selected as Preseason Favorite in Volleyball Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. – After a highly competitive 2022 volleyball season, the Yale Bulldogs were selected to finish first in the 2023 Ivy League preseason poll after clinching a share of the Ivy League title and tournament championship last season.

The top two spots were close as the Bulldogs compiled 125 points and 13 of the available 16 first place votes. Princeton, who earned a share of the Ivy League title as well, finished in second in the preseason rankings with 111 points and the final three first place votes. Both teams finished 13-1 in the Ivy League last season before the Bulldogs defeated Dartmouth and Brown in the 2022 Ivy League tournament to earn the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Brown (97 points) and Dartmouth (76 points) were selected third and fourth in the poll respectively, while Harvard, Cornell, Columbia and Penn rounded out the final four spots.

The Ivy League tournament will be contested at the site of the No. 1 seed on either November 17 and 18 or November 18 and 19.
