2025 Volleyball All-Ivy Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. -  With the annual Ivy League Women’s Volleyball Tournament on the horizon, the Ivy League has announced the 2025 All-Ivy Teams and Major Award winners.

Sydney Draper of Princeton captured her first Ivy League Player of the Year award. The junior setter ranks 8th among all qualified NCAA Division I players with 10.81 assists per set and guided the Tigers to a League-best 13.95 kills per set and a .283 hitting percentage. Draper tallied 10 double-doubles on the season and recorded 50 or more assists on three separate occasions.

Brown’s Jessie Golden was a unanimous selection for the Ivy League’s Defensive Player of the Year. The major award is Golden’s third such honor after being named the Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 and also being named the League’s Defensive Player of the Year a season ago. A senior libero, Golden averaged 4.72 digs per set and was the leader of a Brown defense that led all Ivy programs with a .196 opponent hitting percentage.

The Rookie of the Year was given to Yale’s Ava Poinsett by a unanimous vote from League coaches. Hailing from San Diego, Calif., Poinsett led the Bulldogs to a second place finish in the regular season standings and No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. The outside hitter ranked second among Ivy League players with 3.55 kills per set, hitting .229 from the pins to go along with 2.39 digs per set and 36 service aces.

The Princeton coaching staff, led by head coach Sabrina King, was selected as the 2025 Coaching Staff of the year after guiding the Tigers to 16-6 regular season record and an 11-3 mark in conference play, good for the outright Ivy League title. The program ranked among the Ivy League’s best in several key statistical categories, including total kills, kills per set, assists per set, hitting percentage, and total digs.

The All-Ivy First Team consists of players from four of the eight Ivy League schools. Brown, Princeton, and Yale led the way with two players each as the Bears were represented by Golden and Sophia Wolfson, while the Tigers placed Valerie Nutakor and unanimous selection Draper on the team. Poinsett was also a unanimous selection to the First Team alongside teammate Laurece Abraham and Eliza Konvicka of Cornell rounded out the honorees.

The All-Ivy Second Team featured a balanced representation of Ivy League schools, with at least six of the eight programs earning a spot on the team. Cornell and Princeton led the way with two Second Team members, followed by Brown, Dartmouth, Penn, and Yale with one honoree each.

Additionally, one volleyball student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their excellence in the classroom and on the field as members of the 2025 field hockey Academic All-Ivy team. Honorees include Brown’s Allyson Panzloff, Columbia’s Eva Atkins, Cornell's Amrit Dhaliwal, Dartmouth’s Kauany Gutz, Harvard’s Brynne Faltinsky, Penn's Zada Sanger, Princeton’s Ella Bunde, and Yale’s Halle Sherlock.
