PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton and Yale both secured regular season finale wins on Saturday afternoon to each earn a share of the Ivy League men’s basketball title. Cornell and Dartmouth also picked up wins this afternoon.
Cornell’s win coupled with Brown’s loss on Saturday night to Yale puts the Big Red back into Ivy Madness next weekend. Yale will be the No. 1 seed and face Cornell (Saturday at 11 a.m.) followed by traditional rivals in the second semifinal when No. 2 Princeton takes on No. 3 Penn (Saturday at 1:30 p.m.).
Yale earned its ninth all-time title and fifth in the last eight seasons. This marked Princeton’s second consecutive Ivy League title and was the Tigers’ 29th all-time.
Princeton fought back from a 19-point deficit to top Penn in overtime by a score of 77-69 to earn a share of the Ivy title. Caden Pierce registered a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Tosan Evbuomwan, Ryan Langborg and Matt Allocco also scored in double figures. Penn’s Jordan Dingle had a game-high 28 points.
Cornell made the Yale-Brown game meaningful by topping Columbia, 87-73. Greg Dolan registered a team-high 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field. Sean Hansen had an impressive stat line with 10 points, eight rebounds, six assists, four steals and a block. The Big Red connected on 11 triples.
Dartmouth capped off an impressive Ivy conference season with an 87-82 win over Harvard at home. The Big Green were paced by Dame Adelekun’s 19 points.
