PRINCETON, N.J. — Four Ivy League women’s soccer programs – Brown, Columbia, Harvard, and Princeton - heard their names called on Monday afternoon's selection show and will compete in the NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship. All four schools will host their opening game of the tournament.
Harvard, the league's automatic bid to the tournament by way of winning the Ivy League Women's Soccer Tournament this past weekend, will host Maine — the America East's automatic qualifer — on Saturday, November 11 at 5 p.m. ET. The Crimson earned the fourth-seed in their quadrant of the bracket after a 12-3-2 overall record and a 5-1-1 record in conference play. The Crimson are making their third-straight and 19
th overall apperance in the tournament.
Brown, the league's regular season champion, earned the third seed in their quadrant of the bracket following an 11-2-2 overall record as well as an unblemished 7-0 record in Ivy play. The Bears will host MAAC champion Quinnipiac on Saturday, November 11 at 4 p.m. ET. Just like the Crimson, the Bears are making their fourth-consecutive trip to the tournament. It will be the program's ninth overall.
Princeton earned the No. 7-seed in the top right section of the bracket and will host Michigan, who earned an at-large selection to the tournament. The Tigers finished the season with a 9-5-3 record and a 4-2-1 record in Ivy play. This will be Princeton's 15
th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Columbia was the first Ivy to hear their name called on the selection show, earning the eighth seed in the bottom left corner. The Lions will host Rutgers in the opening round of the tournament on Sunday, November 12 at noon. Columbia finished the season with a 10-4-3 record as well as a 3-2-2 conference record and a trip to the Ivy League Women's Soccer Tournament championship game. Columbia is making their second trip to the NCAA Tournament in program history.
Last year, both Brown and Harvard advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, defeating Rutgers and New Hampshire, respectively.
