Yale's Diehl, Dartmouth's LaFata Earn Ivy League Weekly Volleyball Awards

PRINCETON, N.J. – As the Ivy League volleyball standings begin to take shape, Yale’s Carly Diehl (Player) and Dartmouth’s Maddie LaFata (Rookie) earned Ivy League weekly awards after solid individual outings that helped their teams to weekend sweeps.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Carly Diehl, Yale (Jr., S – San Diego, Calif.)
  • Registered 13 kills without an error (.591 hitting pct.), 59 assists, 16 digs, five service aces, and three blocks to help Yale to a pair of wins over Princeton and Penn
  • Had double-doubles in both outings with 29 assists and 11 digs against Princeton before tallying a career-high 10 kills (.667) and 30 assists against Penn.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Maddie LaFata, Dartmouth (Fr., RS – Fayetteville, Ark. )
  • Put down 17 total kills on the week with only four errors, accumulating a .433 hitting percentage in a Big Green weekend sweep of Columbia and Cornell
  • Hit better than .400 in both of Dartmouth’s three-set wins including nine kills against Columbia and eight against Cornell
  • Also had six digs and two blocks
