Week 5 Football Award Winners Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. – Following strong performances that led their teams to victories in Week 5, Brown’s Mark Mahoney (offensive) and Caleb Moorhead (special teams), Yale’s Clay Patterson (defensive) and Harvard’s Xaviah Bascon (rookie) earned Ivy League football weekly honors.

The trend of close league games continued in Week 5 with both games being decided by a field goal or less. Brown topped Princeton, 28-27, in overtime and Penn beat Columbia, 20-17. Six of the eight league contests this season have been determined by three or fewer points – seven have been decided by a single possession.

Ivies closed out non-league play with an overall record of 15-9, which marks the 11th time in the last 13 seasons that it has finished with a winning percentage of .500 or better. Since 2017, Ivies are 103-41 (.715).
