Luoma, Konvicka Claim First Weekly Honors of Season

PRINCETON, N.J. – Following strong performances in the opening weekend of Ivy League volleyball play, Princeton’s Avery Luoma and Cornell’s Eliza Konvicka took home the first set of weekly awards.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Avery Luoma, Princeton (Sr., RS – Phoenix, Ariz.)
  • Led the Tigers with 41 total kills over the weekend, good for an average of 4.1 per set
  • Was third on the team in digs with 25 and also had three blocks and two service aces
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Eliza Konvicka, Cornell (Fr., OH/RS – Houston, Texas) 
  • Tallied 28 kills in her opening weekend, including a team-high 11 in a win over Kent State
  • Also notched 25 digs, six blocks, four service aces and three assists over the weekend
