PRINCETON, N.J. – Four Ivy League football players earned Phil Steele Preseason All-America honors for the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level.

Alex Washington, Princeton wide receiver
Andrei Iosivas and Yale defensive lineman
Clay Patterson were named to the second team. Princeton punter
Will Powers earned a spot on the third team.
Washington led the league with four interceptions last season, earning him First Team All-Ivy honors. He concluded the year with 17 tackles, including 2.5 for a loss, and registered a pair of pass breakups in nine games.
A multi-sport star, Iosivas hauled in a team-leading five touchdown receptions in 2021. He finished with 41 catches for 703 yards. The Honolulu, Hawaii, native earned First Team All-America status in indoor track and field after placing fourth in the heptathlon at the NCAA championship this past March.
This is just the latest of preseason accolades for Patterson, who was named a second team preseason all-America selection and was one of 35 players tabbed to the watch list for the Buck Buchanan Award by Stats Perform this week. Following his 2021 campaign which he ranked fourth in the nation in sacks per game with 1.15, the Frisco, Texas, product garnered Associated Press Third Team All-America honors.
Powers led Ivy League last season with an average of 43.8 yards per punt. He also blasted a league-leading 12 punts that traveled 50 or more yards, including his season long boot of 75 yards. He took home First Team All-Ivy honors.

A total of six Ivy League football games
will air on ESPN linear networks this season. All other Ivy League home football games outside of this six-game package will air on ESPN+, while select games will also be available through a variety of regional sports networks.
The 2022 Ivy League football season kicks off on at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 16 with Harvard welcoming Merrimack. The remaining seven schools will open their seasons on Saturday, Sept. 17.
