CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard still holds a comfortable lead following the third day of competition at the Ivy League Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at Blodgett Pool.
The finals session started with Penn taking the top two spots in the 1000 yard freestyle.
Catherine Buroker posted a time of 9:43.54 and her teammate
Anna Kalandadze placed second in a time of 9:50.05.
Harvard’s
Felicia Pasadyn posted a time of 4:10.45 to take first place in the 400 yard IM. Harvard’s
Mikki Thompson (4:14.14), Columbia’s
Mary Pruden (4:15.00), Princeton’s
Ellie Marquardt and Harvard’s
Erin Cavanagh (4:16.25) all had NCAA B standard times.
Four swimmers set NCAA B standard times in the 100 yard butterfly. Princeton’s
Nikki Venema won the event in 52.42. She was tailed closely by Harvard’s
Abigail Carr (52.69) and Yale’s
Iszac Henig (52.82). Yale’s
Alexandra Massey also set an NCAA B standard time in 53.59.
Penn’s
Lia Thomas set a meet and pool record in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:43.12. Harvard’s
Samantha Shelton took second in 1:47.42, an NCAA B standard time.
Harvard first year
Aleksandra Denisenko claimed first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.96. Yale’s
Marykate Buckley placed second with an NCAA B standard time of 1:01.69.
A pair of freshmen took first and second and posted NCAA B standard times in the 100 yard backstroke. Brown’s
Jenna Reznicek took first in 52.94 and was followed by Princeton’s
Isabella Korbly.
Yale’s 400 yard medley relay of
Lindsey Wagner, Buckley, Massey and Henig took first with a time of 3:36.10.
