Women's Squash All-Ivy, Postseason Awards Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Cornell’s Sivasangari Subramaniam and Columbia’s Farida Mohamed earned Ivy League women’s squash postseason awards following a vote of the League’s head coaches.
 
Subramaniam was unanimously selected as Player of the Year, Mohamaed was dubbed the Rookie of the Year and Harvard’s Mike Way was named Coach of the Year.
 
Subramaniam posted a perfect 6-0 record at Cornell’s No. 1 position against Ivy League opponents. The Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, native went unscathed in CSA play this season with a 12-0 record.
 
Mohamed posted a 5-1 mark for Columbia in Ivy play. She went 4-1 at the No. 1 position and was 1-0 at the No. 2 spot against Ivy opponents to put her at 8-1 on the season.
 
Way guided the No. 1-ranked Crimson to a 12-0 record in 2021-22 to earn their sixth-straight and 25th all-time Ivy League title. The Crimson have won a women’s record 94-straight CSA matches dating back to Jan. 12, 2015. 
 
Ivy League champion Harvard claimed four-of-10 First Team All-Ivy slots with Serena Daniel, Habiba Eldafrawy, Hana Moataz and Marina Stefanoni earning the honor. All four Crimson first teamers were unanimous selections.
 
Columbia, who finished the season with the program’s best Ivy League winning percentage (.667) in team history, placed three student-athletes on the All-Ivy team. Sin Yuk Chan, Farida Mohamed and Habiba Mohamed all earned the honor.
 
Cornell’s Wen Li Lai joined Subramaniam as the Big Red’s representatives on the All-League First Team. The duo was unanimously selected to the first team. Additionally, Princeton’s Andrea Toth earned unanimous first team nods.
 
Additionally, one Ivy League women's squash student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and on the court as members of the 2021-22 Ivy League Women's Squash Academic All-Ivy team. Columbia's Ellie McVeigh, Cornell’s Sydney Bednar, Dartmouth’s Emma MacTaggart, Harvard’s Hana Moataz, Penn's  Avni Anand, Princeton’s Elle Ruggiero and Yale’s Ainsley Weber were each named to the team.
