Hockey, Cross-Country Skiing and Biathlon Highlight Day Nine in Beijing

BEIJING -- Day nine of Ivies in Beijing feature women’s and men’s hockey, cross- country skiing and biathlon.
 
Men’s hockey took the ice for the first time in Beijing with Ivies representing the United States and Canada. Team USA shut out China, 8-0, to make an opening statement. Harvard’s Sean Farrell tallied five points, including three goals, in the win. Yale’s Brian O’Neill netted a goal with the help of Harvard’s Nick Abruzzese to make the score, 4-0.
  Dartmouth’s Susan Dunklee competed in her third Biathlon event of the Games — the women’s 7.5km sprint. Dunklee finished in 27th place.
 
Harvard’s Rémi Drolet took the course in his second cross-country skiing event in Beijing. Drolet placed 33rd in the men’s 15km classic.
 
Brown’s Alena Mills and Cornell’s Lenka Serdar was the first Ivy to compete in the women’s hockey play off quarterfinal round as her team, Czech, took on the United States. Czech fell, 4-1, in the match. Mills fired off one shots in 20:15 minutes on the ice, while Serdar saw 7:57 on the ice.
