PRINCETON, N.J. – Following strong performances which led their teams to wins, Yale’s Bez Mbeng and Columbia’s Blair Thompson earned Ivy League men’s basketball weekly honors.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bez Mbeng, Yale (So., G – Potomac, Md.)

• Dropped 20 points in Yale’s win over Fairfield, shooting 7-for-13 from the field
• Scored 12 points in the second half, leading the Bulldogs 53-point effort in the second frame

 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Blair Thompson, Columbia (Fr., F – New York, N.Y.)

• Led Columbia with 13 points and added seven rebounds and two steals to help the Lions earn their first road win of the season at Lafayette
• Shot 4-of-8 from field and was 3-of-4 from charity stripe
