Columbia and Yale Take Home Weekly Awards

PRINCETON, N.J. – A thrilling week of Ivy League women's basketball concluded on Sunday as both Penn and Yale recorded victories over Drexel and Temple with game-winning buckets from Kayla Padilla and Nyla McGill, respectively. Princeton capped off a 1-1 week with a win over Delaware after a narrow loss against UConn earlier in the week while Columbia defeated UMass behind a 34-point performance from Abbey Hsu, earning her Player of the Week honors. Yale's Kiley Capstraw earned Rookie of the Week honors.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abbey Hsu, Columbia (Jr., G - Parkland, Fla.)
  • Scored 34 points in a road win against UMass shooting 12-18 from the field and 9-11 from three-point range, tying the most triples made in a game by anyone in the NCAA this season.
  • Averaged 23.5 points, 51.6% shooting, and 55.6% from three in the week.
  • Recorded 12 rebounds to go along with five assists and four steals.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Kiley Capstraw, Yale (Fr., G - West Orange, N.J.)
  • Averaged 14.0 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Bulldogs including a win over Drexel.
  • Scored 18 points against Drexel while recording five rebounds and two assists.
