Yale With Two Football Weekly Award Winners For Third Consecutive Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – For the third consecutive week, Yale had a pair of players take home Ivy League weekly football awards, presented by TIAA. The Bulldogs’ Nolan Grooms and David Pantelis each earned awards, as well as Dartmouth’s Isaiah Johnson.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nolan Grooms, Yale (So. QB – Wylie, S.C.)
  • Improved to 3-0 as a starter and had a career-high 330 yards and three touchdowns on 18-for-26 passing
  • Completed passes to eight different receivers and added 31 yards rushing
  • Led Yale’s offensive attack in the Bulldogs’ 63-38 win over Brown
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Isaiah Johnson, Dartmouth (Sr., CB – Beverly Hills, Mich.)
  • First career interception sealed the victory over No. 16 Princeton, as he returned the pick 73 yards for a touchdown just before the third quarter expired
  • Totaled six tackles and assisted on a stop behind the line of scrimmage
  • Part of a defensive effort that held Princeton, averaging 36.9 points a game, to just seven points
 
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK/ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
David Pantelis, Yale (FR., KR/WR – Pittsburgh, Pa.)
  • Scored two touchdowns in the Bulldogs' 63-38 triumph at Brown on Saturday
  • Finished with a game-high and career-high 205 all-purpose yards as he returned four kickoffs for 152 yards
  • Had two receptions for 32 yards and one rush for 21 yards
