Columbia's Hsu Claims Player/Rookie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J . – The Ivy League has announced its women’s basketball weekly awards on Monday, and after a tremendous weekend, the Columbia University Lions swept the honors as
Abbey Hsu was named the Player and Rookie of the Week.
 
Hsu led Columbia to its first weekend sweep in Ivy League play since 2011 and its first weekend sweep of Harvard and Dartmouth in program history. The Player of the Week honor is the first for Hsu, while the Rookie of the Week award is her fourth this season.

PLAYER/ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Abbey Hsu, Columbia (Fr., G – Parkland, Fla.)
  • Averaged 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals in the Lions two victories
    on the weekend.
  • She was 16-for-29 (55.2%) from the floor and 10-for-20 (50%) from long range in the
    two games.
  • Scored a team leading 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds in Columbia’s 73-63 win over Dartmouth on Friday. She also added two assists and two steals in the game.
  • Exploded for 31 points on Saturday against Harvard - the most points scored by a
    Columbia first-year player since 2014 - and she was 11 of 15 from the floor in the game including a 6-for-9 performance from beyond the arc.
  • The 31 points tied the single game high for any player in the Ivy League this season.
  • Leads all Ivy League players in scoring average in League play (20.4 ppg) as well as 3-point percentage (43.8%) and 3-pointers made (34)
