Ellen DeVoe, Princeton

One of the greatest scorers in Princeton history, Ellen DeVoe ended her four-year career ranked second all-time in points with 1,290. 
 
A four-time All-Ivy performer, DeVoe netted 430 points during the 1983-84 season, which was at the time, the best ever. She served as team captain as a junior and a senior. 
 
DeVoe currently sits second in program history in rebounds (942), rebounding average (9.7), blocks (157), tied for third in double-doubles (23), sixth in field. She also holds the single-game record for blocks in a game with nine. 
 
Her single-game record for points and the program record for blocks stood until current senior standout Bella Alarie surpassed DeVoe in Princeton’s win over Columbia on February 1, 2019. 
 
DeVoe is a professor and director of the PhD Program Director at the Boston University School of Social Work. She is recognized for her research on the study of violence exposure on children and interventions designed to mitigate the impact of trauma on families. Her son, Ethan Wright, is a sophomore guard on the Princeton men’s basketball team.
