Charlie Baker, Harvard

A defensive-minded power-forward for Harvard’s 1977-78 squad, Charlie Baker was an integral part of the Crimson squad. Baker graduated from Harvard in 1979 and later obtained an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

After working in government for eight years, Baker left to become the CEO of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates and later Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, a non-profit health benefits company.

Baker was elected as the 72nd Governor of Massachusetts in January of 2015 and sworn in for a second term in January, 2019. He is credited with economic growth, the overhaul of the state’s criminal justice system, increased funding to tackle teen vaping and opioid addiction.
