Littlefield, Padilla Reap Ivy League Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton guard Carlie Littlefield earned back-to-back Ivy League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors this week, and Penn’s Kayla Padilla earned her first Ivy League Rookie of the Week honor, the league announced Nov. 18.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Carlie Littlefield, Princeton (Jr., G – Waukee, Iowa)
  • Averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals to help Princeton to another 2-0 week and earn back-to-back Ivy League Player of the Week honors. Her performance the last two weeks has helped Princeton to a 4-0 start for the first time since November 2014.
  • Consistent shooting was a key during the week, as she connected on 13-of-19 baskets (68.4%), including a 75% performance (6-of-8) against Seton Hall and 64% (7-of-11) against Florida Gulf Coast University.
  • Her 19 points against Seton Hall and 18 against FGCU gives her 69 points in four games (17.3/game) and six-straight games in double digits dating back to the 2019 Ivy League championship game.
  • After dishing out a career-high seven assists in the season opener, Littlefield had six assists in the Tigers’ first game last week, a 78-76 win over Seton Hall. She also had six rebounds and a steal in the game. She added five rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block against FGCU.
  • This is Littlefield’s second Ivy League Player of the Week honor this season and fourth of her career, also earning the award once in her freshman and sophomore seasons. She was a four-time Ivy League Rookie of the Week in 2017-18.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Kayla Padilla, Penn (Fr., G – Torrance, Calif.)
  • Padilla averaged 19.5 points, 4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and one steal to earn her first Ivy League Rookie of the Week honor. She also shot 55.5% (15-27) on the week, including 40% (6-15) from 3-point.
  • Following 14 points in her debut Nov. 9, Padilla scored a career-high 25 points to lead Peen past NJIT, 85-51, on Nov. 13. The 39 points in two games are the most by a Penn rookie in two games since 1987-88.
  • On Sunday, Padilla added 14 more points, along with five rebounds and five assists in a 74-42 win over Iona to help Penn women’s basketball to its first 3-0 start in program history.
