Ikwuazom, Allen Ride Lofty Numbers to Volleyball Weekly Accolades

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Cornell and Yale boast 3-0 records in League play following weekend action, with perennial contender Princeton sitting a match behind at 2-1. 

Otherwordly numbers from Columbia senior middle blocker Chichi Ikwuazom and Harvard freshman outside hitter/right-side hitter Grace Allen overcome team results en route to weekly accolades. 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Chichi Ikwuazom, Columbia (Sr., MB – New York, N.Y.)   
  • Continued her torrid start in a 1-2 week for Columbia, including a 3-1 win at Penn
  • Hit .514, registering 77.5 points on 67 kills and 15 blocks
  • Accumulated five digs on the week
  • Owns 20-or-more kills in 11-of-13 matches this season
  • Earns her fourth Player of the Week nod of her senior campaign

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK 
Grace Allen, Harvard (Fr., OH/RS – Windermere, Fla.)
  • Assisted Harvard to a League split, including a 3-0 sweep of Brown 
  • Hit .679, tallying 20.5 points on 19 kills and three blocks
  • Added an assist against Yale
  • Appeared in 5-of-7 career sets over the weekend, including her first League action
  • Paced the Crimson with a match-high 13 kills against Brown
