Dartmouth, Princeton Register Key Ivy League Wins

PRINCETON
, N.J. -- Princeton improved to 2-0 in League play with a season sweep of the Quakers, while Dartmouth opened Ivy action with a win over Harvard at Leede Arena.
 
Playing for the second time in seven days, Princeton completed a season sweep of Ivy League rival Penn for the fourth time in the past five seasons. Dartmouth shot a season-high 68.1 percent from the floor to open League play with a win over Harvard for the first time in 12 seasons.

Ivy League play will continue Saturday, Jan. 19 when Yale travels to Brown and Columbia heads to Ithaca, N.Y., to take on Cornell. Both games will be available on ESPN+. 
 
Princeton defeats Penn, 62-53
Behind double-doubles from seniors Devin Cannady and Myles Stephens, Princeton improved to 2-0 with a 62-53 win over Penn at The Palestra.
 
Cannady registered 20 points and a career-high 12 rebounds to move into the top five in scoring in program history, surpassing current Cornell men’s basketball head coach and former Princeton standout Brian Earl. Stephens had 13 points and 10 rebounds to register his seventh double-double of the season. Junior Richmond Aririguzoh had 17 points. Penn was led by junior AJ Brodeur who tallied his second consecutive double-double with a team-high 16 points and 12 rebounds. In two games against the Tigers this season, Brodeur had 34 points and 27 rebounds. The Northborough, Mass., native set a season high with five blocked shots, one shy of his career high.



Dartmouth defeats Harvard, 81-63
Dartmouth hit 68.1 percent of its shots from the field to defeat Harvard, 81-63, to open Ivy League play with a win for the first time in 12 years at Leede Arena. The Big Green went 32-of-47 from the field and hit 11-of-21 from deep. Sophomore Chris Knight had 20 points, four rebounds and three blocks to pace Dartmouth, while Ian Sistare and Brendan Barry shot 50.0 percent from deep to score 13 and 11 points, respectively.
 
Christian Juzang led the Crimson with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting with three 3-pointers.
