Harvard Captures Second-Straight Ivy League Men's Golf Championship Crown

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Harvard captured its second-straight Ivy League Men’s Golf Championship after posting a final round one-over par 289 at The Stanwich Club’s 7,133-yard, par-72 course.

The Crimson improved each day of the championship to finish 10-over par (293-292-289—874), 15 strokes ahead of runner-up Cornell (+25, 297-290-302—889). Harvard is the first repeat champion since Columbia won three-straight Ivy League titles from 2008-10, while the Crimson’s 54-hole score of 874 is the lowest in the Ivy League championship since the Lions’ 858 at Atlantic City Country Club in 2009.

The Harvard scoring four each earned All-Ivy nods, with individual runner-up senior Daniel de la Garza (+1, 72-72-73—217) and junior Greg Royston (+2, 73-75-70—218) claiming First Team honors. Individual champion junior Mike Graboyes paced the Big Red at two-under par (69-72-73—214), as the lone Ivy to shoot even-par-or-better over the 54-hole championship.

Princeton carded a championship-low three-under par 285 during the final round, dropping 18 strokes from its prior round performance to vault up three positions and finish third. The Tigers were led by senior Alex Dombrowski, who posted a championship-low five-under par 67 Sunday to finish as the individual runner-up at one-over par overall (74-76-67—217).

Behind a two-over par performance from senior Jonathan Lai (70-78-70—218), Yale placed fourth at +33 (298-305-294—897).

Penn (+37, 302-304-295—901), Dartmouth (+39, 302-303-298—903), Columbia (+45, 314-286-309—909) and Brown (+60, 308-314-302—924) rounded out the Ancient Eight field.
