Super Bowl LII Covered in Ivy

MINNEAPOLIS -- The 2018 Super Bowl will be covered in Ivy.

On Sunday, Feb. 4, seven of the eight Ivy League schools will be represented when the Philadelphia Eagles take on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.

The list includes Robert Kraft (Columbia) and James Develin (Brown), the owner and starting fullback for the Patriots, respectively. Dartmouth is also represented on New England by football alum Bronson Green, the team’s Site Operations Manager.

The Eagles, meanwhile, feature Dartmouth football alum Ryan Paganetti (coaching assistant/linebackers), Princeton football alum Phil Bhaya (scout), Yale volleyball alum Aileen Dagrosa (Senior Vice President and General Counsel) as well as a pair of Ivy League alums in Harvard’s Alec Halaby (Vice President of Football Operations and Strategy) and Penn’s Jake Rosenberg (Director of Football Administration).

Develin is competing in his third Super Bowl as he looks to become the first-ever Ivy to win three championships as a player. He was named to the Pro Bowl this season along with former Harvard standout and current San Francisco 49er Kyle Juszczyk.

In total, 12 former #IvyFootball standouts made active NFL rosters this season, and seven others appeared on practice squads or reserve/injured lists. The Ivy League also features a number of alumni on NFL coaching staffs and front offices, including Houston head coach Bill O’Brien (Brown), Dallas head coach Jason Garrett (Princeton), New England owner Robert Kraft (Columbia) and Texans part-owner Javier Loya (Columbia).
