NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Brochure
The Ivy League Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is comprised of two representatives from each institution and is charged with the primary goals to promote the diversity of Ivy League student-athletes, giving them a collective forum to discuss matters related to their athletic competition, both on and off the fields of play, share information to enhances their experiences, work together on community service initiatives and provide valuable insight on legislation that governs their sports on the conference and national levels.
The Ivy League also selects one student-athlete to serve a 2-3 year term as the conference's National SAAC Representative. That student-athlete will attend at least two meetings per year at the NCAA offices in Indianapolis, providing the Ivy League perspective and the conference's vote on national issues.
The League's SAAC has a long history of national influence, most recently through former Cornell gymnast Morgan Chall, who served as the Division I chair. Morgan was also on a number of committees as part of her Division I SAAC responsibilities. She was the D1 SAAC member of the NCAA Committee on Academics, representing all D1 student-athletes on matters related to academic integrity and eligibility; she serves as the chair for the Education Team in Division I SAAC, working to create educational materials for NCAA student-athletes with a focus on the new transfer rules, gambling rules, and student-athlete health and well-being.
