The Johnson-Crowley Trophy was dedicated by Cynthia Johnson Crowley and Cynthia Wetmore Crowley in 1995.
Cynthia Johnson Crowley graduated from Penn in 1952 where she earned 12 varsity awards in four different sport; four in golf and three in basketball and softball. In 1997, the women's basketball team room at the Palestra was named in her honor and two years later she was inducted into the Penn Hall of Fame.
Cynthia Wetmore Crowley graduated from Princeton in 1982 where she was a letterwinner in basketball and softball, while also coaching rugby. Wetmore Crowley was the centerfield on the Tigers' softball team.
