Bob Kiphuth Trophy
The Ivy League Champion in Men's Swimming & Diving
The Bob Kiphuth Trophy is named after Robert J.H. Kiphuth, who served as the head coach for the Yale men's Swimming & Diving team from 1918 to 1959. During his tenure with Bulldogs swimming & diving, he amassed a record of 528-12, along with four NCAA titles (1942, 1944, 1951 and 1953), earning him a reputation for being the winningest coach in Yale program history.
In 1963, he received a Medal of Freedom from President Lyndon B. Johnson. He was indicted into the Hall of Fame in 1965; in 1968 the award for most points at the USA Swimming National Championships was renamed the Kiphuth Award.
