CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

PRINCETON, N.J. — Following another record-breaking season for Ivy League outdoor track & field, the Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Track & Field Championships are set for this weekend in Princeton, N.J. at Princeton's Weaver Stadium.

The championships can be watched both days on ESPN+.

BROKEN RECORDS
Six Ivy League records have already been broken this season, with two coming on the men's side and four from the women.

For the men, in the 5000m run, Princeton's Myles Hogan broke former Harvard student-athlete Graham Blanks' record with a time of 13:20.36 at the Bryan Clay Invitational. In the field events, Princeton's Greg Foster continued his terrific senior season, breaking the long jump record with a mark of 8.01m.

On the women's side, Princeton's Tessa Mudd broke her own record from just a season ago with a clearance of 4.41m in the pole vault. Penn's Jessica Oji has enjoyed a steller freshman season, and after breaking the shot put record in the indoor season, she did it again in the outdoor season with a throw of 18.31m at the Tom Jones Memorial. Two more Tigers claimed field event records as Layla Giordano broke the record in the discus, with a mark of 59.94m, and Georgina Scoot broke the triple jump record with a leap of 13.39m.

DEFENDING CHAMPS
Both the Princeton men and women's teams enter the weekend as the defending champions. Both programs eclipsed 200 points, with the men tallying 212.5 points to beat out second-place Harvard (128 points) while the women earned 202.5 points to beat out second-place Harvard (178.5 points).

NATIONAL SUCCESS
Heading into this weekend's championship, the Princeton women's program is nationally-ranked, checking in at No. 14 in the most recent rankings.

Last year, the Ivy League represented well at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships as seven Ivies earned First-Team All-America honors.
