Three Records Fall on Day Two of Ivy Championships

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Day Two of the 2025 Ivy League Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships saw Yale University extend its overall team lead, winning three of five final events inside the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center on the campus of Brown University.

Yale junior Noah Millard kicked off the evening with a dominant win in the 500-Yard Freestyle, setting a new Ivy record with NCAA ‘A’ cut time of 4:07.18, finishing nearly 10 seconds ahead of the next closest competitor. The time was the second fastest in the NCAA this season. Millard now owns the top two times in meet history as he shed nearly three seconds off his 2023 mark.

In the 200-Yard I.M., Princeton junior Mitchell Schott reached the wall in 1:41.44 to take the event title, the second fastest time in meet history.

Yale freshman Nicholas Finch swam to a win in the 50-Yard Freestyle with a pool record time of 19.07. Harvard’s Sonny Wang posted the third fastest time in meet history with a 19.29. The top 21 finishers in the event had times below 20 seconds.

Brown University junior Rowland Lawver collected 370.30 points in the 1-Meter Diving final for his first career conference championship victory. He became the first Brown winner in the history of the event. He narrowly edged last year’s champion Aidan Wang from Princeton (363.00).

The final race of the night was an Ivy and pool record-setting swim of 1:16.48 in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay by Yale’s quartet of Finch, Deniel Nankov, Lucius Brown, and Millard. Harvard University (1:16.53) also turned in an NCAA ‘A’ standard time with a runner-up finish.

Day Three of the championships resumes on Friday prelims set to begin at 11 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
