2024 Ivy League Field Hockey Preseason Poll Announced

PRINCETON, N.J.  – Following a season where the Harvard field hockey program captured the outright Ivy League title, the inaugural field hockey tournament championship, and reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament, the Crimson was selected first in the 2024 Ivy League field hockey preseason poll.
 
Harvard landed in the top spot after accumulating 124 points and 13 first-place votes while Princeton collected 113 points and the remaining three first-place votes. Penn (87 points) and Cornell (86 points) finished third and fourth, respectively, and were separated by just one point. Yale, Dartmouth, Brown and Columbia rounded out the final four spots.
 
During the 2023 season, Harvard, Cornell, and Princeton all spent time in the national rankings. Harvard reached an NFHCA ranking as high as No. 9 while Cornell had a historic season, reaching a ranking as high as No. 17. The Ivy League finished as the third-strongest field hockey conference in 2023, only behind the ACC and Big Ten.

The Ivy League field hockey season is slated to begin on September 6 with all eight teams in action. Following the regular season, the Ivy League field hockey tournament is slated for Friday, November 8 and Sunday, November 10. The four-team tournament will consist of the top-four teams from the regular season and will be hosted at the site of the No. 1 seed.
