PRINCETON, N.J. – As part of its long-term partnership with ESPN, the Ivy League has announced its six-game football package set to air on ESPN linear networks for the 2024 season.
The full schedule includes:
Friday, Oct. 11 – Harvard at Cornell – 6 p.m. ET (ESPNU)
Friday, Oct. 18 – Brown at Princeton – 7 p.m. ET (ESPNU)
Friday, Oct. 25 – Yale at Penn – 7 p.m. ET (ESPNU)
Friday, Nov. 1 – Yale at Columbia – 7 p.m. ET (ESPNU)
Friday, Nov. 8 – Dartmouth at Princeton – 6 p.m. ET (ESPNU)
Saturday, Nov. 23 – Yale at Harvard – TBD (network TBD)
This is the 16th consecutive year that the league will feature a national football television package. For the sixth straight year, the package includes all eight programs.
The schedule for one of the premier linear football packages in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) will feature five consecutive Friday night games on ESPNU and conclude with the 140th playing of The Game.
The package begins on Friday, Oct. 11 with Cornell and Harvard clashing in Ithaca, N.Y. at 6 p.m. The matchup pits a pair of first-year head coaches against each other in Cornell’s Dan Swanstrom and Harvard’s Andrew Aurich.
The following week, Brown and Princeton will square off in Princeton, N.J. Last year’s meeting between the two schools was decided in overtime with the Bears emerging as the 28-27 victors.
Yale and Penn will square off at Franklin Field in Philadelphia on Friday, Oct. 25. The Bulldogs have claimed back-to-back Ivy titles, but the Quakers were the 27-17 winners in last year’s meeting behind 17 receptions for 191 yards and a touchdown from wide receiver Jared Richardson.
On Friday, Nov. 1, Yale and Columbia will clash in the Big Apple. Last season Columbia had the nation’s 10th best scoring defense in the FCS, while Yale’s offense ranked 30th.
The five-week stretch wraps up with reigning co-champion Dartmouth and Princeton going head-to-head in Princeton, N.J. on Nov. 8 with a 6 p.m. kickoff. The Big Green (four) and Tigers (three) have combined for seven Ivy titles in the last eight seasons.
The package will conclude with the 140th playing of The Game between Harvard and Yale in Cambridge, Mass. Both Harvard and Yale earn shares of the Ivy title last season. The last four games in the series have been decided by a single possession. The network and start time will be determined at a later date.
All other Ivy League home football games outside of this six-game package will air on ESPN+, while select games will also be available through a variety of regional sports networks.
The schedule is one of several parts to the league’s comprehensive agreement with ESPN that was launched in 2018. The partnership airs over 1,400 events annually on ESPN+ and includes at least 24 events on ESPN linear networks.
Each of the last two seasons, 16 of the 28 league games were decided by a single possession. Last year eight games were determined by a field goal or less.
An Ivy League football player hoisted the Lombardi Trophy for the sixth consecutive season in February, with Penn’s Justin Watson and Harvard’s Truman Jones and the Kansas City Chiefs topping the San Francisco 49ers. Ivy League football has now produced 17 Super Bowl champions since 2008.
The season begins on Saturday, Sept. 21 with all eight teams in action.
