Cornell's Long, Yale's Pisano Win Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Following the first weekend of Ivy League men’s lacrosse competition, No. 5 Cornell’s Michael Long and No. 9 Yale’s Patrick Pisano picked up the first weekly awards of the season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Michael Long, Cornell (5th., A – Mendham, N.J.)
  • Led the Big Red attack with three goals and four assists in No. 5 Cornell’s 17-13 season-opening win over Lehigh, who is receiving votes in multiple national polls.
  • Had a hand on Cornell’s first four goals to help the Big Red sprint out a 4-1 first quarter lead
  • Also contributed to the win with five ground balls and one caused turnover
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Patrick Pisano, Yale (So., D – Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.)
  • Registered five ground balls and four caused turnovers in No. 10 Yale’s 13-11 win over Villanova
