PRINCETON, N.J. – Following strong weeks on the gridiron, Cornell’s Samuel Musungu (offensive), Harvard’s Ty Bartrum (defensive), Dartmouth’s Owen Zalc (special teams) and Columbia’s Carter McCray (rookie) earned Ivy League football weekly awards.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Samuel Musungu, Cornell (So., WR – Andover, Minn.)
- Had 165 receiving yards and a touchdown on eight receptions in Cornell’s road win over Princeton
- Caught a pass from Jameson Wang for an 82-yard, the longest Cornell passing play since Sept. 29, 2018, when Harold Coles caught an 85-yarder at Sacred Heart
- His 165 receiving yards is the most by an Ivy this season.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ty Bartrum, Harvard (Jr., S – Pomeroy, Ohio)
- Finished with a career-high 16 tackles and a team-high-tying 1.0 TFL (loss of six yards) in Harvard’s road win over No. 22 Dartmouth
- His tackle total was more than double the next highest Crimson defender (Damien Henderson – 5) and double the total of Dartmouth’s top tackler (Micah Green – 8)
- Had nine solo stops
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Owen Zalc, Dartmouth (So., K – Cary, N.C.)
- Tied the Ivy League record becoming the sixth player in league history to hit a 54-yard field goal
- Was 2-for-2 on field goal attempts and 3-for-3 on PATs
- His 54-yard field goal is tied for the fourth longest in the FCS this season
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Carter McCray, Columbia (Fr., DB – San Antonio, Texas)
- Posted three tackles in Columbia's 13-10 victory over Yale
- Part of secondary that held Bulldogs to just 151 yards passing
