PRINCETON, N.J. – Entering the final day of the 2024 Ivy League football season, both Columbia and Dartmouth needed to win and for Yale to defeat Harvard in order to earn a share of the title with the Crimson… and that’s exactly what happened.
This is the Lions second ever Ivy title, with its only other coming in 1961. First year Caleb Sanchez, the third starting quarterback for the Lions this season, threw for 221 yards and added a rushing touchdown to help lead Columbia past Cornell 17-9.
The Big Green claimed their second consecutive title following Jackson Proctor’s program-record 479 yards of total offense. The senior quarterback accounted for seven touchdowns to lead Dartmouth past Brown 56-28. This is the Big Green’s fourth title in the last five seasons and league-leading 22nd overall.
This is the second consecutive year that there is a three-way tie at 5-2 amongst the champions. Previously, the only other occurrences in league history were in 1963 and 1982.
