PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League field hockey slate is down to its final week, and after impressive play that led their teams to critical victories, Princeton’s
Beth Yeager (Offensive) and Columbia’s
Katie Wimmer (Defensive) were named Ivy League field hockey Players of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Beth Yeager, Princeton (Jr., M – Greenwich, Conn.)
- Registered five of Princeton’s seven goals in two key wins for the Tigers
- Scored both of Princeton’s goals in its 2-1 win over No. 6 Maryland
- Had three goals in the Tigers’ 5-1 win over Dartmouth on Sunday as Princeton clinched at least a share of the title and earned the host role for the Ivy League field hockey tournament
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Katie Wimmer, Columbia (Sr., GK – Windham, N.H.)
- Wimmer picked up two wins over the weekend with nine saves in each victory, including a 3-2 win over Yale which kept the Lions’ Ivy League tournament hopes alive
- On Sunday at Lehigh, Wimmer earned her sixth career shutout and fourth of the season
