Week 10 Football Award Winners Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. – Following strong individual performances, Dartmouth’s Q Jones (offensive), Yale’s Joseph Vaughn (defensive), Columbia’s William Hughes (special teams) and Penn’s Malachi Hosley (rookie) earned Ivy League football weekly honors for the final week of the season.
 
With their wins on Saturday, Dartmouth and Yale clinched shares of the Ivy title – to join Harvard which secured a share in Week 9. This marks the fifth time in the 68-year history of the league that three teams have earned a share of the trophy. The most recent occurrence was the 2015 season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK 
Q Jones, Dartmouth RB
  • Rushed for a season-high 124 yards in Dartmouth’s win over Brown that led to an Ivy title
  • Averaged 7.8 yards per carry and found the endzone twice
  • His touchdown runs were of 19 and 38 yards respectively

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Joseph Vaughn, Yale LB
  • Led Yale with 10 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception in its win over Harvard that secured an Ivy title
  • Forced a fumble that Yale recovered deep in Harvard territory that set up the game-winning score midway through the fourth quarter
  • Also had 1.5 tackles for a loss

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
William Hughes, Columbia P
  • Had five punts, averaging 46.0 yards per attempt in win over Cornell
  • Boomed a long of 59 and pinned the Big Red inside the 20 twice
  • Had three punts over 50 yards
 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Malachi Hosley, Penn RB
  • Closed out his rookie campaign with 119 yards on 21 carries against Princeton
  • Added two receptions for 19 yards
  • This marked his third consecutive 100-yard rushing game
